Hastings-on-Hudson is an incredible village along the Hudson river. The village is made up of a conscious, down-to-earth community, beautiful river views, a cute town and peace and quiet! As many of you know, I moved here from New York City a few years ago and never looked back.
I knew Michelle DeForest back in NYC during my days in the NYC digital media scene, where I was networking every night and hopping from meet up to tweet up. To my surprise, I discovered Michelle moved to Hastings a while ago and it’s been kismet ever since! We’ve become great friends out here, BBQing on our decks and porches — and bouncing off new fun business ideas off each other.
During one of our hangs, we decided to launch a Hastings Flea on October 20th. Michelle is quite the crafty girl and I am a sucker for a good community event and project. We presented our idea in front of the “Hastings court of law” or our village trustees, it got approved and we’ve been planning ever since!
The Hastings Flea will be a great day of community, music, crafts, jewelry, vintage furniture, craft activities for kids and more. Matt Turk (the new hubby!) will be playing music along with other local favs like Solar Punch, the Blues Mothers and George Gierer. To all our city friends and beyond, come out to breathe some fresh air, experience the charm of Hastings on Hudson and visit us!
We look forward to seeing you there!
